intentional sustainability community forming

Ten year old non-profit organization seeks people to live and work together at a collectively owned, land-based center for creating sustainable alternatives to current failed and failing systems of food supply, water use, energy production, housing, education, and governance. Our work will target both urban and rural environments, be local in the communities in which we live, and transformational whereby the models we create are sustainable and replicable.
We seek between 3 and 5 families with appropriate skill sets and resources to purchase at least 20 acres of good agricultural land with ample water in Alamance County. We'll then design and build 'green' passive solar homes and offices to dwell and work in. Examples of what is envisioned include the Farallones Institute in California and the New Alchemy Institute in Massachusetts.
We're going to start holding meetings to generate interest and refine our vision and work plan. If interested please contact us and let us know if you are interested in collectively buying land and building a center and/or if you simply wish to join our mailing list to be kept apprised of our activities.
Thank you.
